Why I don't like Christmas in Florida

Why I do not like winter in Florida

There are so many things different in Florida than any other state. It’s hot most of the time, the clothing is much different up north, and there aren’t as many activities you could do outside.  I have been living here for 15 years and it doesn’t feel the same like in the Northeast and out in the Northwest.

One of the main things in Florida is different is the weather. It’s almost all the same down here throughout the year. It stays hot and humid just like the rest of the year. It may get a cold front once in a while, but it doesn’t last long though. So weather doesn’t feel much like winter.

Clothes are also a big factor during winter. Up North they have to wear an abundance of clothing to keep warm. If you see anybody in Florida and it’s somewhat cold they are probably wearing just a sweatshirt, and maybe jeans or some sort of long pants. In the North they have to wear top-heavy jackets and they dress in layers. So that is good reason why I don’t like Christmas hear in Florida.

The last major reason why I don’t like Christmas in Florida is the activities. Having snow is one of the main things you can do outside. You can ski, snowboard, sled, ice-skate outside, play ice hockey, making a snowman, and etc. In Florida you can skate inside a rink but it’s not the same. There is also no snow at all besides way back in the day and that was only once.

So Christmas in Florida isn’t all that exciting since it lacks the spirit.  Also not having the feeling when it gets close to that time of year. So those are three good reasons of why Christmas isn’t as good in Florida.
